Jennifer Christian, MD, MPH
President and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Jennifer Christian is co-founder, president and chief medical officer of Webility Corporation, as well as founder and chair of the non-profit 60 Summits Project.  She also founded and moderates the Work Fitness and Disability Roundtable, a free, web-based, multidisciplinary e-group devoted to work disability prevention and management with more than 1,000 members.

She is a physician, and is board-certified in occupational medicine.  Dr. Christian has both an MD and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Washington in Seattle.

A leader in the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine, Dr. Christian chaired the group that developed the guideline entitled " Preventing Needless Work Disability by Helping People Stay Employed", as well as the group that wrote a consensus opinion entitled "The Attending Physician's Role in Helping Patients Return to Work after an Illness or Injury".  She has served as chair of the Work Fitness and Disability Section of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) since 2001.  She previously chaired the Stay-at-Work / Return-to-Work Process Improvement Committee and the Workers' Compensation Committee for ACOEM.

Prior to founding Webility, Dr. Christian served as vice-president and chief medical officer for ManagedComp, a multi-state workers' compensation care management organization, where she headed healthcare operations.  Before that, Dr. Christian worked with Milliman & Robertson, Actuaries and Consultants, where she consulted in managed care workers' compensation and 24-hour integrated products.  Previously, she led a new business development team within CIGNA's California HMO to create a managed care workers' compensation product.  She is also the former president of the Alaska Medical Association, and a former Physician of the Year.

Dr. Christian has a strong clinical track record in case management and return-to-work programs developed during her years practicing occupational medicine in private practice and in corporate settings.  For example, Bath Iron Works shipyard in Maine reduced lost time days by 68% while she directed the health and safety effort there.

Dr. Christian has a special interest in interpreting business to medicine, and vice versa.  She is a highly-rated public speaker and trainer.  She writes a monthly column called, Ask Dr. J, and has authored articles in both the business and medical press.
