The strength and uniqueness of the consortium has three main sources:
- the wide variety of disciplines and settings in which our members work,
- the breadth and depth of the aggregated expertise we possess,
- our shared commitments (see Mission,

Vision).
Roles and disciplines represented by consortium members include (or will include):
- Physicians, psychologists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, chiropractors, mid-level providers (physician assistants, nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists and counselors) health educators, and other healthcare professionals.
- Disability managers, vocational rehabilitation counselors, and return to work coordinators; ergonomists, job analysts, and others focused on workplace solutions.
- Human resources specialists, risk managers, safety professionals, lawyers, union leaders, claims and benefits administration specialists and others versed in managing health-related employment disruptions.
- Administrators and business people in general management, consulting, operations, program management, product development, marketing and communications, network management, contracts and payments, finance, information systems and so on.
- Academics and researchers in both research and teaching roles.
- Legislators, regulators, and senior executives of industry associations.
